    Allopatric speciation

    Explanation:

Allopatric speciation is one of the five types of speciation (allopatric, peripatric, parapatric, sympatric and artificial) it happens when a population is geographically separated; for example, when there's an isthmus splitting an ocean or fruit flies being seperated in the lab. Then the species on each sides of the barrier can no longer mate with each other, and each population evolves separately.
