Summary judgment. Summary judgment occurs when there is no real dispute as to what happened, it could also occur when the plaintiff cannot provide enough evidence to support the claims. Before a case gets to trial the plaintiff has to disclose documents to the opponent by discovery. i. e show the evidence to the other party. The phrase "the discovery process, alice believes that no relevant facts are in dispute" could only mean that Alice believes that the evidence presented would convince the fact finder beyond reasonable doubt and that there's no need of a trial (she should move for a summary judgment) since lawsuits can be quite expensive.
