Columbus's ships were stranded in Jamaica: Columbus was left with only two caravels when he reached Jamaica. He stayed in Jamaica for around six months until the local people stopped serving them with food. Columbus died believing that he had reached Asia: Columbus never came across the fact that what he had discovered were a few islands in the Caribbean and the continent of South America. He believed he had found Asia.
