When there was a natural disaster namely the flooding of a river, it was seen as an act of the divine. in China it reflected on the dynasty and the divine right of the ruler. in Egypt it reflected on the pharaoh and his divine right to rule. in Mesopotamia, it reflected on leaders like Sargon of Akkad and Hamurabi.

they mythologized their daily life and sought meaning of natural calamaties from the divine and expected answers to such from the responsibilities of their rulers
