What contributed to the collapse of the Spanish mission system in Georgia in the mid-1600s?

    In the course of the mission, the indigenous population declined wuickly, duo to battles or from escaping to other territories. This, combined to the ressetlements in 1656, led to the abandond of the missions in the interior of Georgia.

    missions were raided by Indians who allied with the British and some Indians resettled in areas not served by the missions
