According to Gable and her colleagues like Reis, the two distinct motivations that affect interdependence are:

    1) avoidance

    2) dependence

Interdependence is formed of two words, inter, which means between and the second word is "dependence". The phrase mean dependence between things. A simple example can be when you have a pet which causes you to be happy and you take responsibility of the pet by giving it foo and stuff, this relation is one of interdependence.
