Erin is likely to be capable of learning but do poorly in explicit tests of memory.

Korsakoff's amnesia, which got its name from Sergei Korsakoff, who first researched it, is a type of amnesia caused by the lack of thiamine (vitamin B 1) in the brain. As a result, various types of amnesia can occur, as well as apathy, confabulation, and difficulties with performing learned knowledge, as is the case with Erin above.
