At the end of the Declaration of Independence, what promise do the signers make?

    The final sentence of the declaration of independence is a promise amongst signers to "mutually pledge to each other our lives our fortunes and our sacred honor" and many of them and their fellow patriots did in fact sacrifice their lives and fortunes in the service of our country.
