Explain how society play a role in how science is funded

Society plays a role in how science is funded, because everything that become funded by the government is voted on by the house of reps and the senate. We know that they House of representatives are people that represent people in certain parts of states, so If society in a state doesn't like where the funding is going to then that representative turns does the funding, and if a specific amount of people turn it down then the organization or science that is asking for the funding does not get the money, therefore society plays a role in how science is funded.
