    The statement is false.

The first stage of labor is divided into three phases only, not four. The phases are: latent, active and transitional.

In the Latent Phase, uterine contractions onset. The dilation is 3 to 4cm. It lasts 8.6 hours in average. It is painful when labor is in the Active Phase. The dilation progresses from 4 to 8cm, and the frequency is about 3-5 minutes. The uterine contractions lasts about 60sec and is stronger and longer. The urge to push happens in the Transitional Phase. Full dilation occurs, about 8-10cm. The uterine contraction happens every 2-3min.

Prodromal stage is a stage of infectious disease, with early signs and symptoms of malaise.
