For example in Collectivistic cultures, where there is an emphasis on interdependent relationships and belonging to communities and families, a study found that individuals are more likely to describe themselves as playing a social role such as "I am Jane's father".

    An Individualistic culture on the other hand enforces an independent self concept and creates a view of the self based on personal attributes.
