    Cynophobia is the fear of dogs. Peter's fears decreased as he got older probably due to his lack of interaction with dogs. While dogs are very common in society, it is a relatively well known fear. Most people who have a fear of dogs have a childhood attack to credit these fear to. Angela Merkel, the prime minister of Germany is a famous person known to have cynophobia, which is also associated with a childhood dog attack. Coincidentally animal phobias are more common in females than in males. Animal phobias are an anxiety disorder and the fear of dogs is one of these diseases.
