    According to EPA, more than 65% of sulfur dioxide is produce in the US in a year, or over 13 million tons comes from electric utilities, and 93% of it is produced by the coal power plants.

    China is known as the world’s largest consumer of coal and as of this time, over 30% of the country experiences acid rainfall because of the sulfur released.
