Equality decided to undertake these experiments in order to prove to the school of scholars what he is able to do and that he has unravelled nothing than man has unravelled before.

    Explanation:

Equality is motivated in times of self-discovery. He wanted to bring clarity to the notion of "I". His studies are aftermath of his burgeoning individual attributes. Equality is proving how a person can cause a difference that is more than the collective attributes or characters.

I can say that his major intrest in undertaking his studies was to reveal more on his personality and his identity. One can sat that he did this so that others can clearer view about themselves and the things that brings distinctions. Equality tried to make everyone possess their own concepts, this he stated as beautiful in the act of being distinct. "A strange thought comes to us, we wonder, for the first time in our life, what we look like.", this extract from the book reveals on how having the light will bring clarity and understanding on how each and everyone is uniquely distinct; I could say his findings brought Equality joy.
