Two reasons why the south seceded from the union (one has to be a political reason and the other an economical reason)

The Southerners thought the government was becoming too strong, and that they did not think the government had the right to tell them how they should live.

They thought the Union was getting to powerful so the decide to secede from them. They also wanted to keep the slaves and not let them free so they fought against the Union.
