It was called the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom

    Explanation:

In 1963 a large crowd assembled in Lincoln Memorial to ask president Kennedy for a federal bill of rights that protected civil liberties for the African - American population. The march was a wake up - call to introduce fair employment legislations to end with any type of racial discrimination. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous speech "I had a dream" in order to end racism. This march resulted in the Civil Rights Act 1964 which forbade any form of racial discrimination.
