The French Revolution provided the necessary spark for the revolution in Haiti to occur: it was the inspiration the cause of the abolition of slavery in Haiti needed to actualize its goals.

Explanation:
The Slave revolt in Saint Domingue was the driving force behind the Haitian revolution. Africans and Haitians were treated as slaves by the French authorities. The slaves rebelled due to the political and social unrest. They fought for a better treatment. This revolution started in 1791 and lasted for 15years after which the French authorities were expelled and an independent Haiti was established.
