In a survey of 1020 adults in the United States, 44% said that they wash their hands after riding public transportation (based on data from KRC Research). Is the value 44% a statistic or parameter?

    Statistical value is a representation of a feature of a sample such as the height of some of the individuals in a group. A parameter on the hand, is the numerical value of a characteristic of everybody in a group, such as asking every adult in the United States if they wash their hands after riding public transportation.
