A persons actions within their life can determine their reincarnation in their next life.

Karma is basically the saying "What goes around, comes around."

If you've done bad deeds in life, you will beget unpleasantness.

If you've been good in life and are devoted to god, you will beget happiness.

Karma determines if you are reincarnated and what you will be reincarnated into.
