in the very first scene of a play, a dramatist must tell the audience what kind of play they are about to see. what does the breif opening scene of macbeth reveal about the rest of the play? how does the weather reflect on the human passions revealed in the rest of the aact?

    It foreshadows the ominous actions which will occur later within the play. It also distinguishes the witches as evil forces.

    The weather may be a fallacy, it mirrors the moods of the characters during a given scene. The intensity of the thunder and lightning mirrors the intensity of emotion later within the act.
