Many new machines were created and also ways of transportation. The canal was created along with steam engines. Also, a man, I think named Samuel Slater, brought the Industrial Revolution to the US.

The major effect was strengthening the general economy, especially the countries, where it originated (UK) and later spread.

The industrial revolution also changed live conditions of the general population, but the the beginning partially for worse, as the workers who made the revolution possible had to work in bad conditions for up to 14 hours a day. Child labour was the norm rather than an exception, too. Additionally, the revolution caused urbanisation, the movement of population from villages to towns and cities.
