    The Phoenicians made one very important contribution: they adopted their script from the Egyptians and they modified it into an alphabet, the oldest alphabet in the world (alphabet is a kind of phonetic script where both vowels and consonants are represented). They later passed this alphabet to the Greeks.

    They also made some contributions to navigation.
