"The ways in which domesticated animals have diverged from their wild ancestors include the following. Many species changed in size: cows, pigs, and sheep became smaller under domestication, while guinea pigs became larger."

Student Writing Sample: Domesticated animals diverged from their wild ancestors in numerous ways. Animals such as cows became smaller, while animals such as guinea pigs became larger.

Does this writing sample use sources correctly?

    Answer: No it doesn't

    Explanation: The student did a good job in not copying from the main source word for word which would have required him or her to put them in quotation marks so as to different the borrowed words from his words, but still he didn't cite the sources (author and date of publish).

    So no citation was included in his write-up which will result to him been called out for plagiarism, he used the words or statements as though they were his or her own which in reality it wasn't theirs.
