    The cerebrum. The brain is composed of three parts, cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem. Cerebrum is the largest part with two hemispheres. It controls emotions, speech, langugae etc. Mainly the left hemisphere is controlling the speech. Any damage to this region will affect the ability to speak.
