    Sanction in general is a term that defines the social reaction to a particular decision, action or situation. It can either be in approval or dissaproval of a decision, action or situation.

    Hence, Approved Sanction is a social reaction that is used in encouraging, giving consent or permission, or approval to a decision or action.

    In other words, approved sanction is the permission given to certain action, or to encourage certain decision.

    While Disapproved Sanction is a social reaction that is used in discourage, prohibit or stop an action, decision or particular situation. In this case, it means, to forbid certain activities, which often times, involves penalties and coercion, specifically to enforce a law.

    For example:

    In Approved Sanction: To sanction the use of a credit card, is to encourage people to use credit card.

    In Disapproved Sanction: To impose a sanction is on the use of credit card, is to prohibit or stop the use of credit card.
