The United States attempted to halt the communist revolution in Cuba by weakening its economy to force cooperation. Engaging in negotiations with Cuba's leader. Calling on other NATO nations to fight the revolution. Forbidding Cuban citizens from emigrating to the United States.

    The correct answer is to weaken its economy to force cooperation. This is a model that has been used on many countries as the popular 'sanctions'. Eastern Europe is a very good example of this method and so are some Middle Eastern countires. This works by banning the import of the products from that country which eventualy leads to decrease in production and further into inflation.
