    I believe the answer is: is a major structure organizing our day-to-day experiences.

    For example, he argued that male are expected to spend their life pursuing a career and women are expected to stay at home and tacking care of household. Since both men and women had the capability to do things that are the opposite of the expectation, she believed that it's all just a social construct.
