How was Andrew Jackson different from the previous 6 presidents?

    He was not rich, not from one of the old, established American families. He had had little education and had no connection with the founding fathers, who fomented the American revolution, conducted the Revolutionary War and wrote and ratified the US Constitution. All of the presidents before him were "in on the ground floor", so to speak, either founding fathers or in the case of Quincy Adams, the son of a founding father, and all had ties and position in the administration that came before them. Jackson came out of nowhere (the West) and had not ties with any previous president.
