Police forces have grown steadily in the past 30 years in response to public demands for more protection. how has this affected the rate of violent crime in the united states?.

    Crime rates declined in the 90's and 2000's. Law enforcement and judges were harder on crime when police officers could focus on actual crime. The more officers available, the safer the community is. They not only act as law enforcement, but they are also community leaders who are why the crime rate has lowered.
