We can only hear up to a surtent frecwency that is one reson sorry for my spelling

The sound waves of the higher notes, or pitches do not travel as far as the lower notes, or pitches. So the drums were creating lower pitched sound waves which could obviously reach you. The bass also had created sound waves that could reach you. The singer and maybe guitarist had created higher notes which did not reach you.
