Mrs. Wellington is enrolled in Parts A and B of Original Medicare. A friend recently told her that there is an excellent Medicare Advantage (MA) plan with a five-star rating serving her area. On January 15 she comes to you for advice as to what options, if any, she has. What should you say regarding special enrollment periods (SEPs) ?

    In united states, time eligibility for the special enrollment periods only occurs between December 8 - November 30 in the following year. It's basically applicable almost all year long for those who already enrolled in original medicare, but the government decided to take 1 weak separation to ensure that all administrative process run smoothly.

    This type of opportunities tend to only arrive on areas with higher average income compared to any other areas in united states (since those areas are more likely to afford 5-star facility that needed for the program)
