How did agriculture in the North differ from that in the South?

There were different conditions in both places.

North - Cold, short growing season and rokcy soil, so the only things that grew were blueberries and blackberies.

South - Warm temperatures, long growing season, and fertile soil, so the things that

were - Cotton, tobbaco, inidgo, rice, peanuts, potatoes, citrus fruits, pumpkins, squash, and peppers.
