The European Union (EU) is a geopolitical entity that covers a large part of the European continent. It is an economic and political association formed by 28 countries. Since the 1960s, Brussels has established itself as the capital of the EU, where most of the community institutions are concentrated and where the majority of officials and officials live. The EU has a single currency, a flag, a national anthem and Europe Day, which takes place every 9th of May.

The six founding countries were: Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

The EU has contributed to raising the standard of living of Europeans, building a single market in which people, goods, services and capital circulate among Member States with the same freedom as if they did so within the same country.

The EU actively promotes human rights and democracy, and has the world's most ambitious emission reduction targets to combat climate change.
