How do U. S. social programs reflect the country's principles and interests?

Equal opportunities is at the heart of USA society. This is reflected in U. S. social programs that allow every child Public schools to have access to free education. It gives these children the basic skills they need to integrate in life in American society.

The government also offers a variety of social welfare programs to ensure that people who suffer from poverty, sickness, and disabilities are cared for as well as provides for the elderly.

The US healthcare suffers from a large uninsured population, financial barriers to care, a shortage of primary care providers, and potentially gaps in the quality of care The US lags in educational achievement and it has high income inequality and poverty rates and lower social mobility than most other high income countries. Americans live in obesogenic built environment that discourages physical activity and they live in more socially segregated communities

So we can infer that US social programs do not match with country's principles and interests of equality, liberty, health etc.
