    Chronic venous insufficiency

    Explanation:

    The condition the findings indicate is chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), it occurs as a result of inefficient flow of blood to the heart, thus causing blood to gather in the veins around the joints. It occurs when the venous wall and valves of the leg veins are not working efficiently making it difficult for blood to return to the heart. Symptoms of this condition includes;

    1. Darkening of the skin of the legs,

    2. Swelling of the blood vessels,

    3. Swelling of the feet in some cases and

    4. Dusky discolouration around the ankle.
