What does Malcolm X mean by the philosophy of " black Nationalism"

Malcolm X, the African American fighter for human rights, was a strong supporter of black nationalism. This political movement promotes racial pride and the idea that African Americans can seek equal rights only through the establishment of the independent black community that lies upon values of black culture, racial identity, and ancestry.

This idea wasn't developed only by Malcolm X, but his activism in the 50s and 60s marks one of the strongest campaigns and fights for this idea.

He said that black nationalism is the idea of independence and revolution and that black people aren't asking for any nation for themselves, but they are reaching for their enslaved ancestors on the plantations (from the speech "Message to the Grass Roots").
