    The early Aryans resided in present-day Iran and Afghanistan. Approximately around 4000 years ago, Aryans moved to the northern part of India by crossing the Indus River. The oldest of four Vedas, Rigveda, mentions about Aryans as the residents of northern India. That was the main reason there were no major conflicts between the Dravids of the south and Aryans.
