The conflict theory states that a society is in a trance of constant conflict since there are limited resources and the competition for them is fierce. It states that social order is attained by control and power, rather than accord and harmony.

According to this, the individuals with wealth and power will try to seize onto it by every means possible, mostly by muzzling the poor. The basic hypothesis of this theory is that people and groups within an organization will work to boost their own profit.
