7. In an effort to decrease the nation's dependency on the oil industry, the government of Oman has passed several economic development policies. The policies call for the development of non-oil industries such as mining, fishing, and agriculture.     Well, I mean, it says in the question, the purpose of the policy to develop a wide range of industries for when the oil runs out.
