    Explanation:

    The Article of Confederation was written during the war efforts of American colonists against the British crown in 1777. It gave the young nation the name "The United States of America". Although it gave states sovereign power and the Congress having the power to make alliances and maintained armed forces but Congress lacked the power to tax. The fear that central power would lead to exploitation of states kept the Congress weak until the constitution of the United States was formed.
