    It is paradoxical that the Pardoner tells this story since he is open about his own greediness. The continuous prompt of death makes people either very excellent, or at smallest amount cautious, for the reason that they are attentive of death, or extremely terrible, at the same time as they try to forget about or think to deceive death.
