    Raymond Bernard Cattell, PhD, DSc was a psychologist. While doing research, he came up with questionnaires that he used to assess personality factors in people. He preferred to call these personality factors "source traits." At the time of his findings, many other trait researchers thought his method was too complex to be useful.
