Sandy found a new job that would pay much more than her current job and, in accordance with company policy, gave her employer two weeks' notice that she would be leaving. Upset she was quitting, her employer terminated Sandy's employment immediately. Sandy cannot start her new job for two weeks. Sandy believes her employer has breached her employment agreement, and she should be paid for the two weeks she is unemployed. Is she right?

    Employment at will refers to the fact that an employer could terminate an employee with no reason given or warning or an employee can leave their work for no given reason at all.

    In this case no one owns anyone an explanation both employer and employee provided that it wasn't cases of using unreasonable factors such as gender or race.

    Sandy has decided to quit her job at her own will and the employer decided to terminate her employment at their own will so she can not expect any further salary from her employer.
