Bing's classmates' notion of him represents a prejudice.

A prejudice is a belief or preconceived idea about a person just because of his/her membership to a group. In the case, Bing pertains to the group "inmigrants with Chinese origin", hence students quickly linked him to martial arts, which are also related to this human group where they have embodied Bing.

Sometimes prejudices arise just because a person apparently pertains to a group. It could have been the case that Bing had both Chinese name and physical features but had been born in the US, and his parents too. Hence, they might be not inmigrants anymore but prejudices have made the others think so.
