    The Northern leaders selected the specific objectives of the Anaconda Plan because d) All of the above. This was because the South counted for a large portion of the United States, with one part being more radical about the war than the other part, so it would have been easier to split them in two and to control the less rigorous part which was the northern part of New Orleans and above. The Northern Leaders also needed to assert their strength as soon as possible.
