In the 20th century, the use of irrigation in the Texas mangrove plains combined with extremely favorable environmental conditions for agriculture and livestock, Texas increased its production of agricultural products which boosted local trade in a very strong way, bringing improvements to the economic situation of the state and increasing the quality of life of the Texans.
