How do they make beer? What are kinds of beer?

Beer is made of water, barley malt, hops and yeast. First, the malted barley is sank into the hot water, for some period of time. This part of beer-making is called mashing. After mashing, when the grain is removed, the liquid is boiled with hops, which give bitterness to the beer, to balance the sweetness of the malt. After the boil, brewers put yeast in the liquid, and yeast transforms starches and fermentable sugars into the alcohol. This part of the beer making is called fermentation. Two main kinds of beer are 1) Ale (India Pale Ale, Belgian Ale, Wheat, Stout, Porter) and 2) Lager (Pilsener, Bock, Dark Lager ...)
