Temperance Movement rally against consumption of alcoholic beverages.

    Explanation:

The temperance movement rallied to bring down the level of alcohol consumption. It targeted both the production and consumption of all types of alcohol in the US. It was an effort that was organized in the nineteenth century by those many people who were convinced that the American citizens were straying off path by leading immoral lives. Their fear was that God will no longer look upon their country and that these corrupted individuals will disrupt the country's political system. The people who were a part of this movement believed that all the evils like the rise in crime, homelessness and the loss of jobs were the result of alcohol consumption.
