The American press and the government are built on the foundation of transparency wherein the free press is the bridge that connects the public to the government by revealing the acts and the moves of the leaders. The problem with free press is that there is little or no screening whatsoever which would lead to people having somewhat blinded views on what the American government is like. With that said, having free press can be a double edged sword in a sense that it can either put the government in a good light or a bad one.
