Limbic system is a group of several brain structures located in the inner margin of the upper brain and is involved in learning, emotion, memory, and motivation

    Explanation:

The limbic system is a complex group of structures which lies on both the sides of thalamus, just beneath the cerebral cortex of the brain. This Lymbic system comprises of the parts like hippo-campus, the amygdala, hypothalamus and several of the neighboring areas. This system is responsible for our emotional activities and behaviors in our life. It is also plays a vital role in controlling some behaviors that are important to the life of all mammals like self-preservation, finding food, etc

The hypothalamus is responsible for the activation process of the "sympathetic nervous system', which is a part of any emotional reaction. The thalamus acts as a 'sensory relay center'. Its neurons transmits signals to the amygdala and the higher cortical regions for further processing. The amygdala is responsible for the processing the emotional and sensitive information and sending that information back on to cortical structures. The hippocampus combines or integrates emotional experience with cognition
